Always use your official @avigation.no email as your username. The primary Nextcloud server address is nc.avigation.cloud.

Your activation link

Your administrator sends the initial activation link to your email. It is valid for 48 hours and can be used once. That window applies to this initial activation link only. Later links, such as a password reset, have their own separate lifetime, so do not assume they last 48 hours too.

If it has expired or was already used, ask your administrator for a new one. Do not try to create one yourself in the admin module: that module is for administrators, and a link you mint for your own account is not the invitation flow.

Files & Sync

Synchronize files seamlessly with Windows Explorer, macOS Finder, or Linux file managers. Supports selective sync and virtual files.

Point sync at a new, empty folder

When the desktop client asks for a local folder, create a new empty one for Avigation. Do not point it at an existing folder of documents. Keep your current files where they are for now, and copy them in afterwards once the first sync has finished, so you can always tell the original apart from the synced copy.

Nextcloud Mobile

iOS & Android

Access your documents and photos from your phone. The app also offers automatic camera-roll upload, which is off until you turn it on — read the note below before you do.

Automatic photo upload

Automatic camera-roll upload copies everything your camera saves, including pictures you never meant to put on a work account. Avoid enabling automatic photo upload for private photos. If you do enable it, restrict it to a specific album rather than the whole camera roll.

Nextcloud Talk

Chat & Video Calls

Talk is a separate app, not part of the Nextcloud files app. Installing Nextcloud does not install Talk, and you have to add it yourself for chat, group video calls and call notifications. It signs in against the same server and the same @avigation.no account.

Calendar & Contacts (CalDAV / CardDAV)

Sync with Apple Calendar, Thunderbird, Outlook

Sync your Avigation calendars and address books across native operating system applications using standard CalDAV and CardDAV protocols.

Nextcloud App Password

DAV clients should use a Nextcloud app password from Personal settings > Security. This is separate from the Avigation Mail app password used for IMAP/SMTP.

🍏 How to setup on iPhone / iPad / Mac (iOS & macOS)
  1. Open System Settings (or Settings on iPhone) → Internet Accounts.
  2. Choose 'Add Other Account' → 'CalDAV Account' (for Calendar) or 'CardDAV Account' (for Contacts).
  3. Account Type: Manual. Server Address: nc.avigation.cloud
  4. User Name: your canonical @avigation.no email. Password: your Nextcloud app password.
🦅 How to setup in Mozilla Thunderbird
  1. Open Thunderbird Calendar tab → Right click on calendar list → 'New Calendar'.
  2. Select 'On the Network', enter your username and Location: https://nc.avigation.cloud/remote.php/dav
  3. Click 'Find Calendars' and authenticate with your Nextcloud app password.

External Mail Clients (IMAP & SMTP)

Connect desktop and mobile email applications directly to Avigation Mail using secure IMAP and SMTP.
